Deb and Chuck Schram Bio

Chuck and Deb Schram are the founders of Kansas Family Stroke Foundation. After meeting Larry Schaer and realizing the demand for funding for education and awareness programs, they knew they needed a “village” to accomplish their new goals. Through the leadership of Deb and Chuck Schram, the Kansas Family Stroke Foundation was created in 2017. Since that time, numerous donors and projects that have been done formed a financial base to fund these goals. The Foundation funds the Stroke Camp in Kansas, shares information at events and exhibitions, participates with safekids.org on education of the signs of stroke, and this year will be offering a scholarship program for new therapists to help with the education.

Chuck and Deb were high school sweethearts who have been married for 42 years. They operated Schram Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Manhattan, Kansas until March 2017 when they sold and began the adventure of retirement. On July 21, 2006 Chuck suffered an ischemic stroke followed by a hemorrhagic stroke. After three years of rehabilitation at Kansas Rehabilitation Hospital he has learned how to enjoy life with the limitations on his left side with a positive and humorous attitude. As in business, they worked on their new life of challenges as a team and have realized that the strokes were a blessing. Chuck and Deb realized that the truly important things weren’t just running a business but to embrace each day and appreciate all their friends and family.
